So Viman walk...its something every person living in viman nagar, Pune would know about. Firstly lemme introduce Viman Nagar to you its a small town kind of area almost on the outskirts of Pune it not exrtemly isolated from the city. Its where the symbiosis BBA, Design and Mass com. Undergrad colleges are and of course symbiosis school , though the symbiosis campus is not all that big its still is the best and the most technologically equipped. From what we come to hear from the localaities of viman nagar the real estate prices have gone up really high since symbiosis came up here and the prices of rickshaws also did go up. On one hand some residents curse us students because of whom viman nagar is turning into one of the most expensive places in Pune on the other many of them are really happy as before symbiosis viman nagar was one of the most undeveloped areas in Pune. Five departmental stores have come up since the establishment of symbiosis here.
Okay so lets go back to Viman walk. As I was saying its something everyone in symbiosis Viman nagar campus knows bout. Every evening two of any of us goes ou for viman walk...it starts when we’hv crossed (that is if u r walking away from the NGH) Konark campus, the two shops near konark have ice creams which usually is our dessert before dinner , then there is the small juice shop followed by Himalaya momos, which is the only momos stall in VN and then comes CCD where people just usually go and sit to chill out and some like my very good friend Kanu just order water and yeah of course the corpo bank atm...almost everytime u go out u gotta make a stop der coz u are usually out of money ...or maybe to put it in the right way I am usually out of cash...so moving on then comes London girls the one only all cosmetics shop in viman nagar with all the international brands right next which there is the ice cream parlour they moving ahead there is chopsticks , wrap around you can’t leave out this place coz it has the most amazing ice tea and just for 20 bucks its really amazing, roll house, shri Krishna, Dai wong the amazing but reasonable Chinese restaurant ...its my personal favourite ...specially the spring rolls there are really amazing, oh I forgot Punjabi Dhaba ..where have of viman nagar eats dinner and yeah of course the Kulfi wale bahiya near datt mandir... flavours where you get all kinds of toasts and chat and for shopping now you don’t have to go outa viman nagar ......
But the best thing about viman nagar is the small town effect... anytime of the evening you go out for a walk after every 5 mins you meet someone familiar, anywhere you go you find people from the college be it at the roadside Dosa stall or at Chang’s the other Chinese restaurant in Viman Nagar and new restaurants keep coming up. You don’t have to think twice if you have to go out for dinner just call up a couple of people and the plan is made ...no problem of transport or parents...i guess what everyone living here loves is the freedom...even if you dnt stop at any of these places you just take a walk just for the heck of it , its always fun and according to my friend the best way to fix a bad mood...she always forces me to take a walk with her whenever I am not my usual self..and yeah we don’t carry more than 20 bucks...coz then u will end up spending all of it ...and then you say “its so funny , I cant seem to realise where all of my money went” . Every small thing about this small town is amazing in a totally different way
As I am writing this blog ...i wonder will it still feel the same...so cozy ..so familiar... after two three years ...will the wind that would pass by still give the comfort it gives me now...will it be the same walking down these roads again ...knowing that so much has changed and also knowing that you were not there to witness the changes knowing that now there new occupants in the places (flats/hostelrooms) you once occupied... that thought still kinda scares me, leaving VN will be the toughest for everyone....coz after all its our town...we symbians are at every corner of this amazing town , and its ours atleast for the next year and a half we still have here...but its just a matter of time before everybody familiar go out on their own paths leaving behind just memories oo some of the most amazing days .... From the entrance of viman nagar through the airport road to the symbiosis new girls hostel to datt mandir to ganpati chawk , from shri Krishna to the more store its all a part of symbiosis ...you go anywhere in viman nagar...you’ll find symbiosis there...COZ its our small town...
